Sacramental Preparation for Teens: Disciples & Apostles

Grace and Peace to You from the Christ the King Disciples & Apostles team.

Teens who are enrolled in high school as freshmen, sophomores, or juniors and have not yet received the Sacraments of Baptism, 1st Eucharist, and/or Confirmation; Christ the King offers a 2-year program designed to prepare them for the sacraments of Baptism, 1st Eucharist, and/or Confirmation. The first year of our sacramental preparation, the teens are considered Disciples, and the second year, the teens are Apostles.  The two-year sacramental preparation includes weekly Mass, Life Nights, Wednesday classes, Service Hours, Super Saturdays, and a retreat.

The Diocese of Phoenix requirements for those receiving the Sacraments of Initiation states that each teen must display an openness of heart through:

  • Mass attendance
  • Consistent attendance at formation sessions
  • Participation in a retreat
  • Willingness to participate in community service
